Biography
I am passionate about the physical function and well-being of children. Particularly, I am inspired by the creativity required as a clinician to design treatment plans and the positive impact these can have on, not only the children, but their loved ones too. I have a robust background as a physiotherapist in pediatric inpatient and outpatient areas. My clinical experience includes Roosevelt Institute, BC Children’s hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children. I joined the BC Children’s team in April 2017 as a physiotherapist for the inpatient areas. I also worked for the Orthopedic Cerebral Palsy, bone & joint reconstruction Clinic and the inpatient acute rehabilitation unit at Sunny Hill where I designed individualized rehabilitation programs for children with neurological and physical disabilities. As well as the position and mobility team where we prescribe and design specialized equipment to children all over the province of BC. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team and sharing knowledge with different professionals, both in hospital and in the community, has advanced my clinical skills and knowledge in the care of children with disabilities. I have also developed a set of excellent communication and interpersonal skills, learning to be a support for the patients, families and community teams, always maintaining a family centered care approach.
