Positions
Biography

I am a healthcare leader with 28 years of experience advancing pediatric and perioperative care. I have had the opportunity to lead complex systems transformations including surgical services recovery and redesign following the pandemic, and implementation of BC’s first in-house AORN perioperative nursing program which is the current entry to practice educational requirement in BC. I am also deeply committed to global heath, education and volunteerism. I have volunteered for many years for Pediatric Surgical Missions in Uganda as well as with the Kidney Foundation of Canada. In my current role, I am focused on building and sustaining relationships within the global health community, advancing the global heath platform at BCCH and fostering opportunities for my frontline staff to engage in impactful global health initiatives that support learning, collaboration and capacity building efforts.

The Institute for Global Health acknowledges with gratitude, that we gather and operate on the unceded, traditional, and ancestral territory of the Coast Salish peoples — xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. First Nations who have nurtured and cared for the lands and waters around us for all time. We invite everyone to reflect on the traditional territories and land that they currently work and live on.
