Research in Progress Series: Sarah Dallas

We invite you to attend the launch of our new Research in Progress Series—a monthly interactive forum designed to share ongoing and emerging research while fostering meaningful discussion, feedback, and collaboration.
These sessions are intentionally concise and discussion-focused. Each presenter will provide a brief overview (10–15 minutes) of current or planned work, with the majority of the session dedicated to open dialogue. The aim is to create a supportive space to explore ideas, discuss challenges, and exchange insights across disciplines.
Session Speaker
Sarah Dallas, Research Analyst, Leung Lab
Sarah is a fourth-year student at the University of Utah studying Health, Society, and Policy. She joined the Leung Lab in 2023 and works on projects focused on pediatric diarrheal diseases and antibiotic stewardship.
Presentation:
Utility, Acceptability, and Feasibility of an Electronic Clinical Decision-Making Support Tool for Pediatric Diarrhea: Perspectives of Stakeholders in Bangladesh, Mali, and Utah
This presentation will share qualitative research exploring stakeholder perspectives on an electronic clinical decision support tool (eCDST) for pediatric diarrhea. Drawing on in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with clinicians, informal healthcare providers, and caregivers in high-income and low-income settings, the study examines the feasibility of implementing this tool.
About the Research Group
This work is from the Leung Lab, led by Daniel Leung, who will be joining UBC and IGH as the Chair in Pediatric Global Health in Fall 2026. His research focuses on the immunology, microbiology, epidemiology, and clinical management of diarrheal diseases and other mucosal infections, with extensive experience working in Bangladesh and globally.
